Child Pornography and Freedom of Expression
In the case Karttunen v. Finland the European Court considered the distribution of child pornography as an exercise of freedom of expression with little independent analysis or reasoning. This failure to provide guiding principles on the issue is a shortcoming that the court will have to address in the future, writes Rónán Ó Fathaigh.
